$855K Awarded for Broken Tile Injury
Our client was entering the Yogurt Barn in Lakeside, California when the incident occurred. As a customer, they opened the door and walked in when they tripped over a broken tile and fell to the ground. Upon landing, they hit their hip and jolted their neck. As a result of this slip and fall at this San Diego store, our client recovered an $855K settlement for severe physical and mental pain and suffering.
As discussed below, the defendant was grossly negligent on its premises. By failing to exercise reasonable and safe care of its premises, it proximately caused our client’s injuries.
As a result of the defendant’s negligence, our client sustained injuries including neck and thoracic back pain. After leaving the Yogurt Barn, our client drove home and went to bed.
The next morning, they went to the emergency department at Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group.
At that time, the victim presented with a crushing, tension headache. They also had pain in their neck, right shoulder, and right-sided chest. Physical examination revealed tightness, tenderness, and decreased range of motion of the cervical spine. X-rays of the cervical and thoracic spine were obtained. As a consequence of the trip and fall at the San Diego location, they were diagnosed with severe back and neck problems. Adamson Ahdoot obtained a fair and substantial slip and fall settlement for the victim.
