Uzair Saleem
Partner
Uzair is a Partner and the Head of the firm’s Mass Tort practice group, representing clients in the most complex and high-profile cases across the country. He has extensive experience advocating for both individual and corporate clients, including Fortune 100 tech companies, large insurance carriers, NBA and NFL professional athletes, asylum seekers, and indigent criminal defendants. A seasoned litigator, Uzair has tried multiple bench and jury trials to verdict. He has helped his clients secure numerous seven- and eight-figure settlements.
Graduating law school at 25 years old—one of the youngest in his class—Uzair quickly distinguished himself as a rising star in the legal field. He became an intra-school negotiations champion, a national mock trial competitor, and was described by one of his professors as “one of the most talented young trial lawyers he has ever seen.”
Uzair has litigated cases involving employment law, real estate, and personal injury, but has specialized in high-stakes mass tort litigation. Over the past decade, he focused his practice on representing victims of utility-caused wildfires that occurred in 2017, 2018, and 2019. In a court-appointed leadership role, his prior firm represented several thousand fire victims against PG&E in the largest utility bankruptcy proceeding in United States history. This case ultimately resolved in a record $13.5 billion settlement.
Uzair also played a pivotal role in his firm’s litigation team, which was appointed to leadership in the National Prescription Opiate litigation before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. This $30 billion litigation—described by The New York Times as the most complex litigation in the history of federal courts—sought to hold opioid manufacturers and distributors accountable for their role in the national opioid crisis.
With a proven track record in both individual and mass tort litigation, Uzair remains committed to securing justice for his clients in some of the nation’s most consequential cases.
