Edward Ocampo

Pre-Litigation Attorney

Edward Ocampo was born and raised in Southern California, in the Santa Clarita Valley just north of Los Angeles, where he graduated from Saugus High School in 2007. Since childhood, his father was an inspiration as a Filipino-American attorney, who began practicing in 1993 to support the Filipino community through his work in personal injury, immigration, and family law.

As Edward grew up, he was able to witness first-hand how his father helped his clients navigate complex legal challenges with compassion and understanding; “he was pretty much a confidant and someone to help [his clients] through a trying time in their life, whatever it may be.” This impact helped shape his own path into law. Now, he has joined his father in advocating and empowering those in need.

Edward attended San Diego State University. There, he proved his determination by completing his Bachelor’s in Business Management and Accounting in an impressive two-and-a-half years. This fast-paced achievement would prepare him for the challenges of the legal field.

He wasn’t always part of the legal field, however. His career started as a real estate agent and later transitioned into a Wells Fargo bank teller position. The one constant through this time, however, was his passion for law.

In 2017, he was accepted into Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles for their accelerated program, SCALE—the first two-year J.D. program to be accredited by the American Bar Association. He saw his efforts rewarded in 2019 when he graduated and went on to pass the California Bar Exam on his first attempt.

He gained valuable insight working at his father’s private practice—joining in 2016 as a paralegal and transitioning to attorney in 2020—where he helped clients navigate the complexities of the legal field. In 2022, he opened his own practice, where he learned about the ins and outs of running a law firm—from case management, to bookkeeping, to advertising and payroll. Although this experience proved invaluable, he ultimately decided that joining a larger team would allow him to focus on making a bigger impact on his community. This led him to Adamson Ahdoot, where he is part of our pre-litigation team and brings his passion for justice to all his cases.

Edward Ocampo’s commitment to connection runs deep; during his time at his father’s law firm, he recognized how language could bridge cultural gaps and was inspired to learn Tagalog. This enabled him to serve his Filipino clients in their native tongue. The ability to communicate in their preferred language helps him build trust and ensure his clients feel heard throughout the legal process.

He has always been interested in basketball. His journey began in childhood, eventually leading him to redshirt at San Diego State. Today, you can still find him on the court in his free time, or cheering on the Lakers alongside his father and brother—a family tradition that keeps them close. When he’s not practicing law or playing basketball, Edward likes to enjoy time outdoors, whether that’s snowboarding, camping, or exploring hiking trails with his two dogs.

A surprising fun fact about Edward Ocampo is his true ambidexterity. He can write and even play pool with either hand.
