Vehicle Fell 70 Feet into Cliff in Chatsworth

January 5, 2021 Alan Ahdoot

A single-vehicle crash was reported to occur on December 27th in Chatsworth. Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) was the first responder at the scene, while the Los Angeles Police Department is leading an investigation into the case. The incident happened around Santa Susana Pass a few minutes leading up to 6:00 p.m.

A driver and a passenger, both men, ended up falling 70 feet into a cliff in their vehicle after the driver lost control of the steering, leading to the vehicle’s overturned condition. LAFD rescued both men from their vehicles using ropes since the men were only mildly injured since they were wearing seatbelts during the time of the incident. One of the men was transported to the nearest hospital for treatment, while the other declined further medical assistance.

If You Don’t Wear A Seatbelt During A Car Accident, Will Your Auto Insurance Deny Payout?

Even though seatbelt use has been known to have significant effects on whether or not a person will die in a car accident, some people may not use them. Sometimes, it may not be entirely because you choose not to use them, but because your vehicle’s seat belt has some issues. If you’re already involved in a car accident where you’re not wearing a seatbelt, you may be wondering whether it’s possible that an insurance provider will deny a payout. Although you may receive less amount than you should, auto insurance companies cannot deny payout due to such reasons.
