What Can You Do if an At-Fault Driver Doesn’t Have Auto Insurance?
Although it is mandatory for California car owners to have auto insurance, it is possible that you will get into a car accident with an out of state driver. This is relevant because there are two states that do not require drivers to have auto insurance – Virginia and New Hampshire. Thus, if you were involved in a car accident with a driver registered to any of these states, you need to file a claim against the individuals directly, since they won’t have an insurance provider to cover the damages and injuries that you experience during the accident. If you’d like to consult a Californian lawyer to discuss more on what to do when facing this type of situation, you can call us at (800) 310-1606 for a free initial consultation, available 24/7.
