On Saturday, January 9th, a vehicle collision was reported in Bakersfield. Bakersfield Police Department is leading an investigation into the crash. The incident happened just past 11:00 a.m. near Oswell Street. The driver was trying to park their vehicle when they struck a woman and a man. The woman sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene while the man had moderate injuries and was transported to the nearest hospital. The pickup truck driver remained at the scene, and authorities have ruled out alcohol intoxication as a cause of the crash, as well as speeding.
