I-5 Oil Spill Involved Two Semi-Trailers and One Car
An oil spill was reported on one of I-5’s lanes on Saturday, October 24th, following a vehicular incident involving two semi-trailers and a passenger vehicle. California Highway Patrol was one of the first responders at the scene. It happened near Grapevine at around 5:00 a.m. The oil spill happened when the passenger vehicle, which was trying to overtake both semi-trailers by traveling in the middle of them, crashed into one of the trailers. More than 55 gallons of oil fuel ended up on the road. It is unknown whether anyone was injured from this incident. Several lanes of the I-5 were temporarily closed while the clean-up process commenced.
Can Your Employer Deny Liability for Your Car Crash?
Yes, they can, but whether they are legally allowed to do so differs from state to state. The circumstances of the crash can also affect your employer’s liability for your car accident. For example, if you were involved in a car crash while on-the-job, then your employer has vicarious liability for any damages or injury that arises from the crash. This is especially true if you’re based in California, where the rule applies regardless of the person’s contract type with the employer.
