Female Child Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash
A single-vehicle crash was reported on Friday, January 8th in Lancaster. Los Angeles County Sheriff Department is the lead investigator for the case. The automobile incident happened just past 10:00 p.m. between Avenue L and 40th Street West. A Honda Accord that was being driven by an unnamed male suddenly veered off-road and struck a shopping center plaza sign. The vehicle then crashed into a Chase Manhattan bank parking lot and was overturned as a result. The Honda was carrying a passenger, a female child. The driver was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene, while the child was severely injured and is receiving treatment in Antelope Valley Hospital. Authorities are suspecting that the driver was speeding during the time of the incident.
