Driver Killed and Passenger Injured in Van Nuys Accident
A single-vehicle crash was reported in Van Nuys on Friday, January 1st. California Highway Patrol was one of the first responders at the scene. The incident happened just after 3:30 a.m. on 405 Freeway, near Victory Boulevard. A 2017 Audi R8 was traveling south on the freeway when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The Audi then crashed into a field near the Woodley Park Archery Range and blew up in flames. The driver, a 41-year-old man, died in the vehicle while his passenger, a 38-year-old man, survived with severe injuries. He was brought to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center for treatment. Authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the crash.
