Can Law Enforcement Officials Pursue Personal Injury Claims?

Yes, they can. Although any personal injury or damage sustained during the job by a law enforcement officer will be covered by the state, local, or federal government, they can still pursue a personal injury claim as a civilian. If a law enforcement officer believes that the injuries they sustain from an incident were caused by a person’s willful act to harm, then they can pursue a claim against the individual at-fault.
