Bicyclist Found Dead After Crashing into Parking Area
On Friday, October 30th, a bicyclist in Santa Clara was found dead after a crash with two separate vehicles. California Highway Patrol was the first responder at the scene. The incident happened just before 12:30 p.m. on Rio Del Mar Boulevard. The bicyclist was later identified as a man, aged 48, whose name wasn’t disclosed by the authorities. He was speeding downhill without safety gear and crashed into two vehicles that were parked in Esplanade. The vehicles were a 2019 blue Toyota Avalon and a 1996 white Chevrolet 3500 pickup truck. Neither vehicle were occupied at the time of the crash. Authorities are still investigating whether alcohol or drug intoxication was a factor in the crash.
