Adamson Ahdoot Gets Involved For Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week
On Monday, November 20th, the Adamson Ahdoot Office becomes an assembly line. Volunteers will come together to advocate for and assist those experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles. Outreach’s latest effort centers on assembling toiletry kits for women in the LA area. Although it is Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, this worthy cause should get the attention it deserves year-round.
About Downtown Women’s Center
This organization is committed to uplifting the LA community by providing a wide array of resources to decrease barriers and end homelessness for women, including female veterans and their families, women with severe physical and mental health concerns, and survivors of domestic violence.
Established in 1978 as the first permanent supportive housing provider for women in the United States, the DWC stands out as the sole organization in Los Angeles exclusively dedicated to supporting and empowering women and gender-diverse individuals who are experiencing homelessness. Indeed, the center fuels a vision for Los Angeles, where it ensures that every woman is housed and on a path to personal stability.
Accordingly, they strive to fulfill this vision through four key pillars – housing, wellness, employment, and advocacy.
