Are Vehicle Fires Common Following An Automobile Accident?

Yes, they are. According to the National Fire Protection Association, at least 300 people will die each year due to vehicle fire. Vehicle fires can be caused by two things in general – mechanical failure or automobile accident. Yet, the majority of vehicle fires from 2013 to 2017 were caused by automobile accidents. So, if you are a victim of an automobile accident that ended in a vehicle fire, you should know that it is more likely that the accident caused the fire – not any mechanical failures. You need to take legal action against the at-fault driver to ensure that you can receive the insurance payout that you are entitled to.
