On Thursday, December 10th, a female driver who was responsible for a DUI crash in Newport Beach was charged for her crimes. Orange County Sheriff Department was the lead investigator on the case. The driver, a 22-year-old female named Grace Elizabeth Coleman, was involved in a fatal DUI accident on Tuesday, December 8th, just before 8:00 p.m., which caused the injuries of three minors and the death of their parents. The incident happened between Newport Coast Drive and Pelican Hills Road South. The deceased, Henry Eduardo Saldana-Mejia and Gabriela M. Andrade, both in their late 20s, died at the scene. Saldana-Meija was driving a Nissan Versa when Coleman’s Range Rover struck his vehicle. The three minors, who were Andrade and Saldana-Meija’s daughters, are still hospitalized for their injuries.

Can You File A Wrongful Death Claim on Behalf of More than One Party?

This depends on whether or not you are related to the deceased. If you are related to all of the deceased victims, you just need to file one wrongful death claim on their behalf. However, if there are multiple victims involved and not all of them are related to you, then unless the people who are related to said victims gave their power of attorney to you, you cannot file a wrongful death claim on their behalf as well.
