$200k Settlement for Driver’s Side Accident
Our client was the restrained operator with two passengers of a vehicle traveling westbound in lane #1 on Interstate 580 approaching the intersection of US 395 in Reno, Nevada. Shortly before the side impact car accident occurred, the defendant was operating a vehicle directly behind our client’s automobile. Our client was slowing down to accommodate the traffic ahead when the defendant failed to yield to the slowing traffic and struck the rear of our client’s vehicle.
As a consequence of the collision, our client struck their head on the driver’s side door of the vehicle. The police officer at the scene found the defendant at fault for the collision. The defendant violated Nevada Vehicle Code 484B.603 for failure to reduce speed and failure to exercise due care for traffic conditions. As a result of this collision, our client’s vehicle sustained extensive vehicle damage.
Remsa Ground Ambulance paramedics evaluated our client at the scene of the collision. They complained of pain in the front of their head, neck, and lower back. They rated their pain at 6/10. As a result of the discomfort, the paramedics applied a collar to the neck. After applying full restraints due to a side impact car accident, the paramedics transported our client to the Emergency Department of Renown Regional Medical Center without incident. Once there, they transferred our client’s care to the waiting emergency room staff. Due to their injuries, the victims required extensive rehabilitation after the accident.
