$110K Recovery for Bar Altercation With Bouncers

Our client and their friend were at the Big Shots Bar located in Lake Forest. After being served two pitchers of beer, our client got into an argument with another customer, who was a friend of the bouncers. The Big Shots security bouncer team asked the plaintiff to leave the bar. However, they allowed them to finish the third pitcher of beer. The bouncers watched them drink the third pitcher of beer and leave the bar intoxicated.

After confirming our client was intoxicated and incapable of defending themselves, the bouncers attacked Plaintiff in the parking lot of Orange Tree Plaza. Our client was swept from their feet and hit their head on the floor. One of the bouncers punched and kicked them in the head and face. As a result, the plaintiff momentarily lost consciousness. They do not recall the rest of the assault, and their next memory is waking up the next morning. While on the ground, a bouncer security stabbed the plaintiff with a knife. The defendant also hit our client with a brass knuckle.

Our client was attended by the paramedics of Care Ambulance Service following an assault. The victim was lying on the ground, showing signs of distress. Upon arrival, they complained of head and facial pain. The examination revealed pain, tenderness, and abrasions to the head, a hematoma to the left orbit, swelling and bruising to the face, and a laceration to the temporal region. There was pain and tenderness in the neck and a laceration on the right arm. The paramedics placed our client in all safety restraints with a spinal motion restriction and transported them in full precautions to Saddleback Memorial Medical Center for further evaluation and care.
