A single-vehicle crash was reported to have taken place on 14 Freeway, near Newhall Avenue on Saturday, October 24th. Los Angeles County Fire Department is one of the first responders at the scene. They received information about the crash at around 4:00 p.m. Several people were occupying the vehicle when the crash happened. However, no one was hospitalized nor injured from the crash. Several lanes of 14 Freeway were closed while the investigation of the crash was ongoing.

Can You File Damage Claim to Your Auto Insurance Following A Vehicular Crash?

Yes, you can. However, whether your claim will be approved or not depends on the circumstances of your crash. For example, if your car crash was a single-vehicle crash that occurred due to your own negligence, then you can file a damage claim to your auto insurance if you have a personal injury protection (PIP) policy included in your auto insurance. If you live in California, this will not be mandatory insurance coverage, and thus you need to check your auto insurance policy. On the other hand, if your car crash was due to the fault of another party then we advise you to refrain from using your own auto insurance. You should instead pursue a personal injury claim against the at-fault party.
