October 27, 2020 Alan Ahdoot

A single-vehicle car accident took place on Monday, October 19th in Castaic. A vehicle fire was reported on Interstate 5, near Lake Hughes Road. Los Angeles Fire County Department, who was first on the scene, stated that the vehicle involved was a semi-truck. They responded to the incident at around 10:40 a.m. The backside of the semi-truck was caught on fire due to unknown reasons. As a result of the fire, the vehicle crashed into a nearby curb. No one was injured in the incident.

Can Vehicle Fire Be Caused by Vehicle Defects?

In 2014-2016, at least 1 in every 5 highway vehicle fires in the United States was caused by the vehicle’s mechanical problems. Thus, if you are suspecting that your vehicle fire was caused by vehicle defects then you may not be wrong – especially if the vehicle is new. However, the party at-fault in this kind of situation cannot be directly determined without further investigation – it is possible that your car dealership was at fault, your auto mechanic, or even the car manufacturer.
