When Can You File A Wrongful Death Claim?
In California, you can file a wrongful death claim starting from the date of the accident that claims your loved one’s death, to up to two years after the event. However, there is one caveat that you need to know. If the auto accident that killed your loved one involved a government employee, then you have to start your wrongful death claim process as soon as possible. This is because you need to file a document called “notice of claim”, which cannot be done if more than 90 days have passed since the auto accident happened. If you need the assistance of an attorney to expedite your wrongful death claim process, call us at (800) 310-1606.
