Fatal Accident Killed Three People in Shafter

On Monday, October 5th, a fatal vehicular accident took place in Shafter at around 4:00 p.m. California Highway Patrol was the first responder at the scene. The scene of the accident was located on the crossroads of Orange Street at Poplar Avenue. Two vehicles collided – an Infiniti sedan, driven by a 27-year-old man, and a Chevy Impala, driven by a 19-year-old woman.

The Chevy Impala was traveling at a high speed, heading west on Orange Street when it collided with the sedan after the Impala driver failed to heed the stop sign. The sedan was carrying three people, including the driver, while the Impala had two occupants. Both drivers of the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. One of the sedan passengers, another 27-year-old man, also succumbed to his fatal injuries. Two of the other vehicle passengers survived, although both required hospitalization.
