$200K for a DUI Accident in California with Injury

$200K Settlement for Rear-End Drunk Driver Accident

Our client was in a vehicle traveling northbound on Avalon Boulevard approaching the intersection of Del Amo Boulevard in Carson, California. At that time, the defendant was driving a vehicle directly behind our client’s vehicle at a high rate of speed. Our client then slowed down and stopped at the red light at the intersection. However, the defendant failed to yield to the stopped traffic and struck the rear of our client’s vehicle. The defendant was later charged with DUI causing an injury accident in California.

The force of the impact pushed our client’s vehicle into the rear of another vehicle in front. Upon the crash, our client was thrown forward, hitting the windshield, and jolted backward hitting the headrest of their car

The police officer at the scene found the defendant guilty of breaking two statutes. First, the California Vehicle Code 23152 (a) CVC for driving under the influence of alcohol. Second, for violating 22350 CVC for driving at an unsafe speed. The driver was arrested for DUI with injuries in a traffic accident in California. As a result of this collision, our client’s vehicle sustained extensive damage, resulting in a total loss.

Our client went to the emergency department at Torrance Memorial Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of the injuries sustained due to the motor vehicle collision that occurred earlier in the day. Our client complained of headaches and pain in their neck.
