Our client was the restrained operator of a vehicle traveling on Fairfax approaching the intersection of 18th Street in Los Angeles, California. The defendant was driving directly behind the plaintiff in a separate vehicle. Due to high speed, the accused driver violently rear-ended our client at a red light. The defendant’s vehicle sustained frame damage from the severe impact. The defendant’s insurance carrier declared the vehicle a total loss. As a result of the damage and injuries sustained from the rear end accident, the victim contacted Adamson Ahdoot’s attorneys.
The accused driver blamed the accident on stop-and-go traffic. However, they essentially admitted that nothing other than their failure to drive at a reasonable speed was the cause of the accident.
The off-center impact caused the defendant’s head to strike the driver’s door/windshield. This resulted in a bump/bruise on the top of their left eyebrow and physical injuries. Our client suffered a concussion and concussion from hitting their head, among other debilitating long-term injuries. Even the airbags in the defendant’s Jaguar deployed, yet the defendant testified that the collision occurred in stop-and-go traffic at less than 20 mph. Finally, an experienced lawyer from our personal injury firm recovered $325K for the injuries caused by the rear-end accident.
