On Sunday, September 20th, a fatal multi-vehicle accident occurred on San Mateo Bridge. California Highway Patrol was the first responder at the scene. Two motorcycles and a BMW car were involved in the accident.
The BMW broke down in the middle of one of the bridge’s lanes. A group of motorcycles was riding behind them and moved to another lane to continue their journey. However, two motorcycles from the same group did not heed the change of lanes and crashed into the parked BMW.
One of the motorcycles, a 2015 Harley Davidson, was thrown into the San Francisco Bay due to the crash’s impact alongside its driver. The driver was identified as a 34-year-old man, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The other motorcycle, a 2016 Harley Davidson, also crashed into the BMW. The driver and passenger of the motorcycle were found to be a 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman. They had severe injuries from the crash and were sent to the nearest hospital for treatment.
