Video Shows Sean “Diddy” Combs Assaulting Cassie Ventura
Los Angeles Hotel Security Footage Shows Video Evidence of Combs Physically Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend Cassie Ventura
Puff Daddy’s tangled criminal case has been reignited. Surveillance video shows Sean “Diddy” Combs repeatedly punching singer Cassie Ventura during a 2016 incident. In the footage, the music mogul appears to be intoxicated as he physically assaults his then ex-girlfriend. The events took place at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.
The video is consistent with Ventura’s allegations in the last November lawsuit. The security camera tape released by CNN shows different shots and angles of the assault.
The case takes on added significance after Ventura claimed the hotel knew about the attack. According to the singer’s accusation, the hotel, which is now closed, was fully aware of the events. In fact, Ventura stated in her lawsuit that hotel staff urged her to “get in a cab and go to her apartment.” She also claims that Combs paid the InterContinental Century City $50,000 to obtain footage of the hallway altercation.
Cassie Ventura Was Kicked and Pushed by Sean “Diddy” Combs
The footage, dated March 5, 2016, shows Cassie Ventura leaving a room with her suitcase and walking down the hallway toward the elevator. Immediately after, Combs runs after her with a towel wrapped around his waist. When she reaches the elevator area, Combs grabs her by the back of the neck, throws her to the floor, and kicks her. As Cassie Ventura lies on the ground, Sean “Diddy” Combs grabs her suitcase and kicks her again. He then grabs Ventura by her sweatshirt and drags her before returning to the room.
Ventura slowly stands up and walks to a phone on the hallway wall near the elevators. Combs returns with an aggressive attitude and shoves Ventura again. Shortly thereafter, he sits in a chair near the phone, grabs an object from a table, and violently throws it at his ex-girlfriend.
Two days after the revealing images came out, Combs apologized. “I felt disgusted when I did it and I feel disgusted now. But I went and sought professional help. I went to therapy, I went to rehab. Now I’m committed to being a better man every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry,” Combs said. The apology comes after the artist denied his ex-partner’s accusations following the filing of a lawsuit. Sean “Diddy” Combs then claimed they were “sick allegations” and that he had never acted inappropriately toward Cassie Ventura.
Cassie Ventura Sued Puff Daddy aka Diddy in November
Casandra Ventura, a singer known as Cassie, met Combs when she was 19 and he was 37. The couple dated from 2007 to 2018. Five years later, Ventura filed a lawsuit against Combs for physical violence and sexual abuse. The complaint alleged that the music producer assaulted and sexually abused her for more than a decade. In the lawsuit, Ventura detailed an incident that took place at a Los Angeles hotel. With the release of the latest footage, Ventura’s version of events has now been corroborated. The case was settled between the two parties one day after Ventura’s attorneys filed it.
What Are The Allegations Against Combs?
Following Ventura’s lawsuit, more alleged victims of sexual abuse and assault reported Combs’ offenses. In total, there were five complaints for incidents that occurred between 1991 and 2024.
- Joi Dickerson-Neal. A student accuses the rapper of drugging and raping her while videotaping her in 1991. Dickerson-Neal says Sean “Diddy” Combs distributed the sexual assault video without her consent.
- Liza Gardner. A minor at the time, Gardner claims she was 16 when Combs and singer Aaron Hall raped her after intoxicating her with alcohol.
- Jane Doe. The victim alleges she was gang-raped in 2003 when she was 17. Doe claims that a group of people, including Combs, raped her after forcing her to take drugs and alcohol to render her unconscious.
- Rodney Jones Jr. The music producer is the latest to file a lawsuit against Combs. Jones Jr. accuses him of unwanted touching, sexual harassment, and forcing him to take drugs, among other things.
As a side note, despite being one of the most influential artists in music history, Combs has received almost no public support from anyone. Not a single artist or Hollywood producer has spoken out to defend the rapper. A silence that, in a way, shows the severity of the allegations against Combs.
Why Hasn’t Diddy Been Arrested?
While the above charges are still under federal investigation, the assault seen in the video would be enough to arrest the singer and music producer. But, why hasn’t he been arrested yet? Because of California’s statute of limitations.
Visual proof of violence would be key evidence in any personal injury lawsuit. And, consequently, it would lead to the arrest of the aggressor. However, assault crimes in California have a 5-year statute of limitations. Therefore, since Combs’ violent conduct occurred eight years ago, it is a time-barred case. Any assault charges against Combs would be beyond the scope of a state prosecution in California.
However, could this offense be part of the federal investigation? Yes, the assault footage could be an additional charge. Currently, Homeland Federal Investigation is working on a human trafficking and sexual abuse case against Combs. To that end, they are gathering evidence of racketeering from any proof and testimony from Combs’ alleged victims. And if Ventura’s accusations prove to be true, the video of the assault would strengthen the case.
It is important to remember that the federal investigation began after Cassie Ventura filed a lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs in November. Shortly thereafter, new allegations of Combs’ criminal behavior of sexual assault and violence began to surface. These accusations, as we mentioned earlier, detail stories of people being intoxicated for sexual purposes, victims being beaten unconscious, the presence of weapons, or the use of hard drugs. This is a case that has many similarities to those of Jeffrey Epstein or R Kelly. The latter received a 30-year prison sentence.
