$200K Settlement After Being Hit by a Car While Riding a Bike

$200K Mediated Settlement for Bicycle Collision

Our client was the helmeted bicyclist riding northbound through the crosswalk. They were traveling west on Franklin Street and crossing California Street in Mountain View, California. At the same time, the defendant was driving their vehicle westbound on California Street through the intersection of Franklin Street. The defendant’s subsequent distraction resulted in the victim being hit by a car, which led to a $200K settlement for a bike accident.

The defendant was driving while looking at their cell phone, not paying attention to the roadway. As a result of this negligence, the defendant struck the bicyclist. Our client fell to the ground on their right side and suffered injuries. Some were severe, leaving disfigurement and scarring.

By the time of the accident, our client was accompanied by their parents. They took them to the emergency room at El Camino Hospital for evaluation. There, the victim was treated for the injuries sustained as a result of the collision between the bicyclist and the motor vehicle.

The victim complained of pain on the right side of their right leg and discomfort in their right arm. Physical examination revealed abrasions to the face, right shoulder, right elbow, and left knee. X-rays of the right shoulder and left knee and CT scans of the brain and facial sinuses were ordered and performed. After being hit by a car while riding their bike, the family contacted Adamson Ahdoot’s attorneys, who secured a $200K settlement.
