September 27, 2020 Alan Ahdoot

On Friday, September 25th, a single-vehicle car accident occurred half an hour after midnight in Union City. California Highway Patrol was the first responder at the scene. The car, a silver sedan, suddenly lost control on the Interstate 880. The sedan veered into the freeway divider between Alvarado-Niles and Fremont Boulevard. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Law enforcement officers are still investigating what might have caused the accident. The driver was later identified as a 22-year-old man named Marco Gonzalez Peregrina. He was from Hayward. Several lanes of the I-880 freeway were temporarily closed for the investigation.

Can Road Conditions Cause Single-Vehicle Crash?

Yes, they can. Research done by NHTSA shows that road conditions such as road curvature and the number of lanes can contribute as factors causing single-vehicle crashes. However, determining this to be a factor in your case requires the help of a legal expert. If the road condition is a factor in your single-vehicle crash, your attorney should be able to look into prior cases with circumstances similar to yours. Any precedent would greatly help your case.
