October 13, 2020 Alan Ahdoot

A pedestrian was hit by a car in Bakersfield on Friday, October 9th. California Highway Patrol, who was first on the scene, received information about the incident at around 10:18 a.m. The location of the incident was discovered to be at South Union Avenue, near Rexland Driver.

The pedestrian was standing on the median strip and suddenly walked into the incoming vehicle. They were identified as a 21-year-old man named Kevin Daniel Hall. He was transported to the nearest hospital, Kern Medical Center, for treatment on his severe injuries, but was later announced to have died. The driver involved was not arrested.

Can You Be Held Liable for Car Accident Medical Bills if Your Loved One Has Passed Away?

It is possible that you will be held liable for your loved one’s medical bills if you were the beneficiary of their estates. This only happens if their medical insurance does not provide enough payout to cover the bills incurred. In California, if you are a child of a deceased loved one who died after receiving medical treatment for their car accident injury, then you should be protected by law to not have to pay for this if you cannot afford it. In the event that you’d like to dispute the medical insurance payout your deceased loved one receives, you should first contact an attorney to discuss your case.
