Healing the Bay Return is a No-Brainer for Adamson Ahdoot Outreach
On Saturday, July 15, the Adamson Ahdoot Outreach Team joined forces with Heal the Bay again to help beautify some of California’s beaches. They came together to impact the environment positively during the “Nothing but Sand Beach Cleanup” event held at Will Rogers State Beach. And the decision to return to Heal the Bay was a no-brainer for the team, inspired by their previous experience in June 2022.
On that occasion, they cleaned up Manhattan State Beach. The Outreach team gained valuable insights into beach pollution and its effects on California’s coastal ecosystem. The team also learned about Heal the Bay’s mission and impressive setup. But the team’s impact doesn’t end there. The valuable information they gathered is crucial for supporting legislation to protect California’s beaches. This information ultimately ensures safer and cleaner coastal waters and watersheds in Greater Los Angeles.
Introducing Heal the Bay
As mentioned in our post leading up to the event, Heal the Bay is a nonprofit established in 1985. Their work is dedicated to the beautification and preservation of California’s beaches and waterways. It also centers on education. Communities learn about the importance of sustainable practices and safeguarding the wildlife that inhabits these natural habitats. But Heal the Bay’s work doesn’t stop at the beach.
Indeed, the organization plays a critical role in addressing the challenges posed by the vast Los Angeles County storm drain system. These drains channel water runoff from the streets into the ocean through numerous outfalls. In this way, Heal the Bay attempts to mitigate pollution getting to the beaches. And this is also why the decision to return to the beach cleanup was a no-brainer; the scope of the work is massive.
The Adamson Ahdoot team members once again took to the beach, determined to make a dent in the pollution. They came armed with passion, gloves, and trash bags. Their commitment to Heal the Bay’s mission and their zeal for preserving the natural beauty of California’s coastline was on full display. And their hard work resulted in a cleaner shoreline.
The new experience reinforced their dedication to supporting Heal the Bay and its mission of making Greater Los Angeles’ coastal waters safe, healthy, and clean for generations to come.
