Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash Reported in Los Angeles

December 28, 2020 Alan Ahdoot

A single-vehicle crash was reported in Los Angeles on Sunday, December 27th. California Highway Patrol was the first responder at the scene. The incident happened at around 2:11 a.m. on 110 Freeway, near 405 Freeway and 190th Street. A 2019 Honda suddenly lost control and struck the highway’s rail. It was carrying five occupants including the driver. The vehicle also caught on fire after it crashed. One person was found dead at the scene while four others were severely injured. The deceased was found to be a Carson resident aged 39, who was found to be the driver. The other victims were a 35-year-old man, a 26-year-old woman, a 31-year-old man, and a 20-year-old woman. They were sent to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center for treatment.

Can Personal Injury Claims Be Filed for Deceased Victims?

Generally, no. Personal injury claims can only be made for victims who suffered injuries and damages from a car accident, yet survived it. If the victim died because of the incident, then you can file either a survival action or wrongful death claim. Choosing which claim to pursue depends on whether or not a personal injury claim process has already been started, among other reasons. To know more about how to file either claim and which is most suitable for your car accident situation, call us today at (800) 310-1606 for a free consultation.
