83-Year-Old Dead From Traffic Accident in Antelope Valley

On Thursday, October 1st, 2020, a vehicle collision occurred in Antelope Valley Freeway involving a motorcycle and a car. California Highway Patrol was the first responder at the scene. They received news that a female driver, riding a 1997 Honda Goldwing crashed into the rear side of a 2007 Mercedez Benz that was slowing down during traffic.

The female driver, identified as Carolyn Horton, age 83, died from her severe injuries at the scene. The accident took place near Avenue D at around 1:18 p.m. Investigators concluded that the motorcycle driver was not able to brake when the Benz suddenly slowed down. The impact with the rear side caused her to fly out of her vehicle, which caused her fatal injuries.
