On September 27th, a fatal car accident occurred between South Street and Cerritos Avenue at Long Beach. Long Beach Police Department is the first responder at the scene. A male pedestrian was crossing the intersection between the two streets when he stopped in the middle of South Street. Two cars, a 2011 Toyota Camry and a 2005 Nissan Quest, were heading west when they both struck the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Both drivers attested that they did not see the man. Neither drivers were a distracted or impaired state while driving during the incident. It is assumed that the reason for the pedestrian’s sudden stop was that he was waiting for the eastbound traffic to clear.
