Vehicle Struck A Breanna Taylor Protestor on Sunset Boulevard

October 9, 2020 Alan Ahdoot

A vehicle struck a demonstrator and nearly injured several others during a protest on behalf of Breonna Taylor’s death at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, on Thursday, September 24th, 2020. The Los Angeles Police Department was one of the authorities at the scene. The vehicle was identified as a dark-colored pickup truck. It was traveling on Sunset Boulevard, where the protest took place and was traveling the opposite direction of the protestors.

Eyewitnesses mentioned that the vehicle was told to stop when the driver, an unidentified male, suddenly sped up his vehicle and struck a person who was thrown backward from the impact. This person was injured and sent to the hospital for further medical treatment. The driver gave a statement to the police that the protestors damaged his car first.

What Happens if You Were Hit by A Vehicle during a Public Demonstration?

Recently, there has been an increase in vehicles crashing into protestors in the United States. You should know that regardless of the driver’s intent, if you sustain any injuries due to a vehicular crash in public demonstration settings, you can pursue a personal injury lawsuit against the at-fault driver. Not only that, but you can also pursue a claim against other parties involved, such as the protest organizers and the law enforcement officials at the scene.
