Single-Vehicle Crash Killed Driver in West Hollywood Hills

October 8, 2020 Alan Ahdoot

On Sunday, October 4th, 2020, a single-vehicle crash occurred near the area of West Hollywood Hills. The Los Angeles Fire Department is one of the first responders at the scene. A male driver was traveling on West Mulholland Drive when his vehicle veered off-road into a nearby dike. Eyewitnesses reported the incident at around 8:00 a.m. The man, who was driving a silver SUV, was found dead at the scene. It is yet to be known what may have caused his loss of steering wheel control. Several roads heading to Mulholland Drive were temporarily closed during the investigation of the accident.

Can You File A Wrongful Death Claim in a Single-Vehicle Collision?

Yes, it is possible. It is very uncommon, however. An example of a wrongful death claim in a single-vehicle collision is when a passenger died from the actions of a negligent driver, and the surviving family members of the deceased served the driver with a wrongful death claim. However, if you were involved in a single-vehicle collision where only one party is present, like in the case above, then a wrongful death suit cannot be filed. However, there may be other legal options available for you. You can call us at (877) 871-3265 for a free consultation today.
