Female Bike Rider Died in Hit-and-Run Incident

September 29, 2020 Alan Ahdoot

On Saturday, September 26th, a hit-and-run incident was reported to have taken place in Carson at around 6:17 a.m. Los Angeles County Sheriff Department is the lead investigator in the case. The incident occurred in the vicinity of Dominguez and Chico streets. A woman was riding her bicycle when she was struck by an unknown vehicle.

Although paramedics were immediately sent to the scene, the woman, unfortunately, died from her injuries before she was transported to the hospital. Authorities closed down several streets around the area of the accident during the investigation process. The vehicle is yet to be identified and investigators are still looking for the suspect.

How Do You Deal with Your Medical Bills After Hit-and-Run Incident?

In California, all vehicle owners are required by law to have auto insurance. At a minimum, auto-insurance will reimburse your medical bills although the amount will be determined by several factors – some, which are not in your control. Thus, the common advice for medical treatment in a car crash is to proceed with it immediately if you have insurance since your insurance will be less likely to reject the cost. There are other strategies available to deal with this situation, and a personal legal counsel can help you with this.
