On September 17th, 2020, at around 6:00 p.m., a single-vehicle car accident took place in San Jose. The report of the incident indicated that the accident occurred between Airport Boulevard and Coleman Avenue. A Honda CRV car, which was speeding on Airport Boulevard, struck a tree. The car then fell into the nearby Guadalupe River. The vehicle was badly damaged as a result of the accident. The unidentified driver had fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the emergency responder. No other occupants of the car were found. Due to the incident, Guadalupe Bike Trail is temporarily closed down until further notice.

Are There Cases Where Insurance Don’t Cover Single-Vehicle Crashes?

There are certain situations where you aren’t able to claim your auto insurance when single-vehicle crashes are involved. Most notably, it applies when the driver is established to be the one at fault, such as in DUI or reckless driving cases. Even if your single-vehicle was determined to be a collision-based case, there will still be a chance that your payout will be lower than you expect. Not only that but if you had a single-vehicle crash, you will most certainly end up with higher premiums in the following payment cycle. If you just recently experienced a single-vehicle car crash, and are facing any of the aforementioned situations, we can provide you with the legal assistance you need.
