$1M Lawsuit for Severe Arm Crushing Injury in Truck Incident
Our client sustained devastating injuries while providing assistance to a truck driver on the side of the road. The incident occurred as our client was helping the defendant resolve a problem with a malfunctioning tandem lock. Without any warning or signal, the driver reversed the vehicle. Our client’s arm was crushed after being pinned between the skirt of the trailer and the tire, causing extensive physical trauma.
The limb remained trapped and crushed for 30 seconds, causing catastrophic injuries. Emergency medical personnel responding to the scene found extensive trauma. This included compound fractures, significant nerve and tendon damage, deep tissue lacerations, and loss of sensation in several fingers.
The consequences of the accident were severe and permanent. The physical trauma caused debilitating pain and significantly reduced our client’s quality of life. In fact, it severely limited their ability to perform basic daily activities. Recovery required multiple surgeries to repair nerves, extensive physical rehabilitation, and psychological counseling to address the resulting emotional trauma.
Although the defendant initially denied liability, Adamson Ahdoot successfully proved that the crushed arm was a direct result of negligence. Specifically, the defendant violated California Civil Code Section 1714(a) by failing to maintain proper safety protocols and adequate vehicle maintenance standards.
Through our diligent legal representation, we were able to secure a $1 million settlement. This covered our client’s physical and emotional damages and provided vital support for their ongoing recovery and care needs.
