Vehicle doing donuts explodes into flames after street takeover

Like flash mobs, but for cars, and more dangerous! Another hazardous street takeover occurred on May 14 in Los Angeles.  Approximately 400 people gathered at the intersection of 120th Street and South Central Avenue in Willowbrook around 1 a.m. During the dangerous gathering, a vehicle that was doing donuts caught fire and exploded, causing a large fireball.

Following the explosion, the crowd gathered around the automobile, making it impossible for officials to access the wreckage. Upon the fire department’s arrival, many of the individuals present began taking selfies, preventing the much-needed intervention of firefighters to extinguish the flames.

Although the cause of the explosion is unknown, two people were arrested for shoving and interfering with firefighters’ work. There were no injuries.

This isn’t the first time the LAPD has been summoned to a similar incident, and the problem only seems to be getting worse.
