Bicyclist Tragically Killed in Livermore Collision with Vehicle

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports a female bicyclist was tragically killed in a collision with a vehicle in the Livermore area of the bay. According to the CHP, the cyclist was hit and struck by an SUV Land Rover at about 2:34 p.m. on Tuesday.

Authorities report the driver of the Land Rover was traveling south on Mines Road in Livermore as the bicyclist was traveling north on the same road. Apparently, both the driver and the cyclist ended up crossing over the center line and colliding when attempting to navigate a right-to-left curve in the road at the same time while traveling opposite directions.

Sadly, the cyclist died at the scene of the accident after being ejected from her bike. Authorities said the bicyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision and do not believe alcohol or speeding were a factor in the accident.
